Skin will exfoliate on different layers depending on the type of preparation and intensity of treatment, which is adapted to the condition of the skin. Peels are used to treat oily skin, acne, acne scars, blemishes and corn disorders. These treatments, in properly selected formulations, are also used to improve the condition and appearance of: skin regeneration, skin aging, skin elasticity, skin firmness and tension, fine wrinkles, photoaging, discoloration (lightening), and the condition of dry skin. PYRUVIC PEEL
Pyruvic peel is based on a 50% solution of Pyruvic acid designed to remove keratinised epidermis (peeling) and used for the reduction of seborrhea of the skin. Pyruvic acid can be found in fresh fruit and apple vinegar. It is actually an alfa-ketoacid which is stronger than glycolic and salicylic acid but less aggressive than TCA. This acid molecule is small and easily penetrates to deeper skin layers. At the dermal layer it stimulates fibroblast activity and increases collagen, glucosaminoglican and elastine synthesis to re-modulate the derma.
Indications:
- Seborrhea and oily skin
- Rosacea
- Pigmentation disorder
- Wrinkles
- Acne in the active phase7
- Acne scars
- Keratinisation disorders
- Post-inflammatory and post-acne pigmentation
- Pigmentation after pregnancy and contraceptives
- Photoaging
Pyruvic peeling should be repeated 5-6 times in 7–10 day intervals or for a period of time until the desired result is achieved.
This peeling has a pleasant surprise because of its fast erythem tranquillisation. So no lifestyle changes are needed and this procedure has a patient satisfactory rating.
Above all, this peeling has no exceptions for treatment except for people with herpes, conjunctivitis, allergic or irritative dermatitis.
TRICHLOROACETIC PEEL (TCA)
The TCA peel works by removal of the upper layers of skin. By removing the upper layers of skin, the overall skin texture is dramatically smooth, superficial wrinkles are quickly eliminated and colour irregularities are improved on. It has been used for many years to treat facial wrinkles, age spots, pigment abnormalities, and other superficial skin problems such as sun damaged skin. TCA Peel can also be applied to the skin or the hands. The TCA Peel is one of the most innovative ways to easily rejuvenate the skin using a special based formulation.
When planning the TCA peeling, skin preparation is very important in advance. This allows uniform penetration of the active substance and shortens the period of epithelialisation, which minimises the risk of hyperpigmentation. The application of 0.1% retinoic acid for 15 days before surgery is recommended. During the procedure, the active substance is applied until a whitening of the skin due to epidermal protein coagulation (frosting) occurs, then the action is stopped. After the surgery itching, swelling or hyperpigmentation can be experienced. Photoprotection is recommended for 4-5 months.
YELLOW PEEL
This removes the layer of the epidermis at different levels and can be adapted to the type of skin damage. This peeling works by exfoliating highly concentrated retinoic acid simultaneously with three other substances (phytic acid, kojic acid and azelaic acid) and blocks the endogenous synthesis of melanin. The peeling is easy to use and brings the same benefits as aggressive chemical peels.
New invigorating peel contains:
- Retinoic acid
- Azelaic acid
- Phytic acid
- Kojic acid
- Ascorbyl Palmitate
- Bisabololo (chamomile extract)
Indications:
- Epidermal melasma
- Hiperchromic epidermis damage
- Removal of superficial wrinkles
- Surface and medium acne
Yellow peeling is a deep peeling. If the peeling is working effectively, you should expect a blush and a delicate burning sensation after the session. You should also avoid sun and apply creams with UVA filters SPF 50 for a month after the peeling treatment, and not plan any sun-holidays during this period of time.
Yellow Peel is an entirely medical peeling; it requires skin examination before treatment to decide regarding the treatment’s intensification.
MANDELIC (ALMOND) PEEL
Mandelic acid is derived from the extract of bitter almonds and is useful for treating photo-aging and irregular pigmentation. Mandelic acid is useful in suppressing pigmentation and for the rejuvenation of photo-aged skin. Chemical peels with Mandelic acid at weekly or bi-weekly intervals have shown improvement for melasma, lentigenes and fine photo-aged damage. Mandelic Acid peel not only eliminates acne, wrinkles and sun damage but gives the face a complete refreshment. This alpha hydroxy acid is derived from the bitter-almond-nut. What makes it so lovely to use is that given its large molecular structure. This peel won’t cause burning or irritation.
SALICYLIC PEEL
Salicylic acid can be found with concentrations ranging from 20%-35%. Salicylic acid peels work by encouraging the shedding of outer layers of skin and dislodging dirt and sebum from pores. Salicylic acid also possesses anti-inflammatory properties and the ability to shrink pore size by stimulating cellular renewal.
Compared to alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) peels, Salicylic acid is more appropriate for oily skin types as it is fat/oil soluble, giving it more penetrative power. Salicylic acid aids acne sufferers while lightening surface scarring. Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, salicylic acid is a safer bet than AHA peels for sensitive skin.
The effects of salicylic acid are among others:
Regulation of skin cell renewal by removing unnecessary horny cells, resulting in improved skin tone and structure,
Increase the effectiveness of other cosmetic preparations, skin acids, prepared to better absorb the active ingredients contained in creams providing better hydration of the skin, also used in higher concentrations may have an additional effect on the dermis,
Helping to improve the production of collagen and elastin, unlocks pores and is antibacterial, preventing the formation of inflammatory foci or any kind of pimples and blackheads
Helpful in the case of hyperpigmentation and small acne scars
Recommended not only for the face, but to the entire body.
Use of salicylic acid is very helpful, especially for desiccated parts of the body such as elbows, knees and feet.
Indications:
- Inflammation and stenosing acne
- Rosacea
- Skin discoloration
- Folliculitis
- Wrinkles and loose skin
Effects:
- Renewal of the skin
- Cleansing of blackheads
- Shrinks the pores
- Lightening and shallowing of fine lines
This peel is recommended for all types of skin, exfoliation after surgery is barely visible.
Products with salicylic acid cannot be used by people who are allergic to salicylates f.ex. aspirin, as well as by pregnant and breast-feeding women.
In the course of hydroxy acid treatment, using sun beds and tanning in the sun is not recommended. It is mandatory to use a UV filter with a high level of sun protection.
BODY PEEL
Reduces cellulite, skin laxity, stretch marks and other imperfections of the body.
Body Peel uses the action of glycolic acid at a concentration of 70%. It works by stimulating the dermis, resulting in the synthesis of proteins and macromolecules.
Firstly the body is cleaned with a solution of Keratolytic Pre-peeling solution (salicylic acid, lactic acid and glycolic acid). The formulation is applied before peeling for a complete recovery across the stratum corneum (dead cells, sebum and dirt) which facilitates the penetration of the skin by active peeling agents. Then the prepared substance is applied to the skin. This is 70% glycolic acid, which is supposed to stimulate skin. Each time there is premature penetration of glycolic acid, a neutraliser can be used.
Indications:
- Cellulite
- Skin thickening
- Skin keratosis
- Stretch marks
- Loose skin
LIGHTENING PEEL
This peel uses a combination of glycolic acid at a concentration of 50%, phytic and kojic acid at concentrations of 5%, which act synergistically on the inhibition of melanin synthesis. Lightening Peel is an ideal means of restoring the natural skin tone.
Indications:
- Surface melasma
- Inflammatory hyperpigmentation
- Solar spots (lentigo solari)
- Restoring and unification of the natural skin tone
Precluding Conditions:
- Herpes
- Skin allergies to substances used in the peeling
- Tendency to develop keloids
- Several features of melanocytes
- Pregnancy and breast-feeding
- General treatment of retinoids in the previous 6 months
- Cellulitis
Frequency of treatments
The procedure can be repeated every 15 days, until the desired effect is achieved.
Lighter Peelings can be used by almost everybody, except pregnant and feeding women. It is a very quick, safe and practically painless therapy. Although some discomfort during acid injection can sometimes be felt. But that feeling quickly passes after the application of a post-peel cream. The doctor decides what kind of peeling scheme to use, dependent on the expected effects (skin rejuvenation, discoloration, ageing spots, etc., ).
There is no need to prepare the skin for the treatment. If you follow the doctor’s instructions, especially those concerning preventing your skin from UVA radiation, you can use them for a year. After the treatment the doctor will instruct you how to take care of your skin after the peeling, how to moisten and protect your skin and will also recommend you the most suitable cosmetics.
